The first Certified Sustainability Practitioner workshop for Japanese Managers held in Tokyo, Japan

SustainaVision Ltd, in collaboration with the Centre for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE) hosted for the first time in Tokyo, Japan its global Training Program “Certified Sustainability (CSR) Practitioner” on February 23&24 2012. Participants included managers from global Japanese organizations and institutions including Kirin Brewery Company, Sumitomo Corporation, Hitachi Solutions, Nippon Foundation, and Housei University. Guest Speaker on this event was Prof. Atsushi Inaba from Kogakuin University, a well known speaker on Carbon footprint.

“The objective of SustainaVision, is, through this training, to provide practical tools and knowledge to Japanese executives and managers in order to understand the global trends on CSR and improve their brand image” mentioned Takeshi Shimotaya, Managing Director of SustainaVision. Nikos Avlonas President of CSE said “We are proud that our global course is now held in Tokyo for the first time, providing the opportunity to leading Japanese organizations to learn how to utilize CSR as a competitive advantage”.

At present, over 350 Sustainability Practitioners from 5 continents and over 30 countries have been recognized as Certified Sustainability Practitioners, and have achieved career progression. CSE’s Sustainability Practitioners are making a substantial difference in implementing sustainability to enhance financial and non-financial performances in their organizations, which include World Business for Sustainable Development, Lloyds Banking Group, Eurobank EFG, Oracle, Mercedes Benz, Shell, Sara Lee, NV Bekaert, Baker Hughes, ZAIN, Whole Foods, North Face, Vanity Fair, Entrepreneur.
