NYC Sustainability Training Tackles the Hard Issues

The Center for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE) thanks all of our participants at our sold-out New York training, June 6-7, 2019.  The discussions were enlightening, and the key issues brought to the table critical.

CSE’s Certified Sustainability (CSR) Practitioner Program, Advanced Edition 2019 is a challenging, two-day training providing the latest practical tools and resources required to implement or upscale corporate sustainability to drive participants’ initiatives to the next level. The training provides participants the tools they need to implement effective sustainability strategies. The issues brought to the gathering by the practitioners raise important questions about human rights, health care, waste management and responsibility toward supply chain.

NYC’s 2019 workshop had a significant portion of pharmaceutical and healthcare product providers.  Discussion ranged from sourcing materials to pharma’s responsibility toward addiction and pricing.  Also, densely present were representatives from engineering and manufacturing firms.  The salient topics covered included supply chain, compliance, international legislation and the circular economy.

Executives from Fortune 500 companies such as United Technologies, Owens-Illinois, AIG and Celgene tackled issues arising from acquisitions, talent retention and competitive advantage – all through the sustainability lens.  Participants also included the NYC Economic Development Corp and academics from Rutgers, Harvard and Colorado State, moving from theory to practice as demonstrated by Wayne State’s demonstration of its strong strides toward making the campus and the Detroit community more sustainable.

Attendees from corporations, governments and NGOs from around the world have trusted CSE and participated in our advanced training to become Certified Sustainability (CSR) Practitioners and earn recognition in the Sustainability and CSR field.  Each training addresses issues of deep concern to the region and the participants.  The upcoming trainings include Houston, Sept. 26-27; San Francisco, Oct. 15-16 and Seattle, Oct. 28-29.

CSE proudly announces a new partnership/sponsorship with Moody’s on the Certified Sustainability (CSR) Practitioner Program taking place this fall in Toronto, Canada. The Advanced training program is designed for CEOs and C-level executives who want to make Sustainability a driver for organizational change, risk management, innovation and success.
