CSE Workshops to Address Life Cycle Assessment for Carbon Footprint and Sustainability Supply Chain for the IT Sector

The Center for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE) will be implementing two workshop sessions and a presentation at TIA 2011: Inside the Network.

The workshops are scheduled for May 17th and will address:
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) – Carbon Footprint, and
Sustainability Supply Chain – IT Sector

The presentation will take place on May 19th titled
Conducting a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

Nikos Avlonas, President of CSE will host the workshops in an effort to enhance and develop the application of sustainable solutions in the Telecommunications Industry.

As the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) has pointed out:
“By 2015, the worldwide consumers of wired broadband will top 647 million and use a massive 3 gigawatts to fuel the delivery of bandwidth. This power consumption will swamp the world’s electrical infrastructure.”

Through these workshops, manufacturers, suppliers, directors and managers working in Telecommunications will have the opportunity to learn how Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools and techniques work hand in hand with Supply Chain strategy and management. Incorporating methods and practical solutions within a product range and across the supply chain will assist in crystallizing programs and policies to reduce energy consumption and improve carbon footprint in network and corporate operations.
