General Motors (GM) is an American multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, markets, and distributes vehicles and vehicle parts.

The Challenge

As part of its Sustainability Strategy GM states that by investing in technology, infrastructure, and the shared vehicle economy, it is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its vehicles and facilities. As part of this commitment it required a new strategic framework for its Materials Planning.

The Solution

CSE supported GM to design a new comprehensive framework for its Materials Strategy. This exercise included a review of existing strategy and sustainability reporting, creation of new definitions of materials, new strategic planning tools, and a legislation reporting and sector benchmark.
