The Challenge

Being highly aware of the need to act to prevent climate change, C.F. Martin & Company wanted to move forward with its calculation of Greenhouse Gas emissions resulting from the production of one of their guitars.

The Solution

CSE performed the LCA calculations to produce the new Model OM Biosphere based on data provided by Martin Guitar. CSE used the most relevant and accurate International Standards to perform its LCA study. CSE made the calculations needed and the verification for the creation of the Carbon Footprint study. For the calculations of the carbon footprint, CSE performed the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of the new Model OM Biosphere guitar, which included: the production and transportation of the raw materials, transportation of the final product, energy consumption, packaging, waste management and generally all procedures that were needed to create the product.
