The participants in this cohort represented a truly diverse group of sustainability professionals from across the globe, with expertise spanning a wide range of industries and regions—from Belgium to the United Arab Emirates and from Greece to Brunei. Among them were Operations Managers, Senior Managers, Heads of Impact & Sustainable Development, Project Managers, ESG Project Managers, and Carbon Management Leaders, alongside Security and Compliance Consultants, Private Sector Engagement Managers, and Managing Directors. Their roles touched on various sectors, including recycling, energy, compliance, and environmental advisory. This collective wealth of experience fostered dynamic discussions, collaborative knowledge-sharing, and innovative solutions that are helping to transform the landscape of sustainability leadership.
Program Success and Highlights
This recent cohort excelled in mastering critical sustainability and ESG concepts through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical applications. The program included interactive group work, extensive case studies, and comprehensive Q&A sessions that fostered active engagement among participants.
Participants particularly appreciated the group discussions, which were described as very engaging and insightful. One participant highlighted that they gained a better understanding of ESG indexes and frameworks and emphasized the importance of starting with a materiality assessment to ensure the validity of an ESG report.
Feedback underscored the program’s strength in combining theory with practical experiences, allowing participants to draw from real-world examples and share their professional expertise. The flexible approach, led by experienced trainers, also allowed for deep discussions and meaningful exchanges on sustainability challenges.
A notable takeaway for many attendees was the value of interaction during live sessions, where they could connect with other professionals and delve into diverse perspectives. As one participant put it, “I got an overall perspective on the legal framework, understood the ESG concepts in its vast, varied forms, and met a group of committed individuals with the same goals.”
Lastly, while participants praised the case studies and interaction within groups, some wished for a more critical view of case studies, especially when addressing issues such as greenwashing or insufficiently ambitious sustainability goals.
