James Wallace

James Wallace is a sustainability and ESG leader with over 13 years of experience in the insurance, finance, and corporate sectors. He holds an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and a BSc in Geography from the University of Aberdeen.

He has held executive roles at Allianz, Novartis, and RSA Insurance, where he led ESG integration, reporting, and transformation initiatives.

His key achievements include winning the Reuters Best Integrated Report 2023 for Novartis, driving an 80% carbon reduction at RSA in six years, and establishing ESG transaction risk screening for Allianz.

As a former Board Member of the UN Sustainable Insurance Initiative, he played a pivotal role in developing global ESG standards. He is an expert in sustainability strategy, ESG reporting (EU, US, CH), impact measurement, and governance, and is a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and boards on responsible investment and corporate sustainability.

James has also led corporate-NGO partnerships, including an award-winning risk collaboration with WWF, and has experience in training and education, having taught sustainability and ESG courses as an adjunct faculty member at the EU Business School.
