The Centre for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE) hosted its 3rd annual Certified CSR Practitioner Workshop in Dubai, UAE. The workshop was held at the Novotel World Trade Center between the 19th and 20th of January. Executives, managers and project coordinators working in CSR from leading organizations in the region participated.
Distinguished guest, Mrs. Eva Ramos, Senior Sustainability Specialist for Policy and Strategy at the Environmental Agency in Abu Dhabi presented the case of Abu Dhabi’s Sustainability Group. Established in June 2008 with a mission to promote sustainability management in the region, the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group provides learning and knowledge sharing opportunities for government entities, private companies and non-profit organizations. With a spirit of collaboration and open dialogue, Abu Dhabi’s Sustainability Group is a champion of Sustainability in the UAE.
This uniquely certified workshop enables professionals to gain a professional certification as CSR Practitioners, and making a substantial difference by integrating sustainability into their practice and organizations. CSE trainings are recognized internationally and are approved by the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). Having been recognized in high esteem in both content and delivery, trainings serve as a stepping stone for organizations wishing to progressively improve the tools, standards and techniques they use for integrating CSR strategies and programs across operations and departments. Trainings also prepare experienced professionals to introduce high level methodologies and techniques for embedding social, environmental and economic criteria within their areas of practice. At present, more than 200 CSR Practitioners in 5 continents and over 25 countries are certified under the CSE.
CSE’s next training will be focused on GRI Certified Training between February 21st and 22nd in Athens, Greece. Professionals have a unique chance to acquire specialized skills in GRI reporting. CSE is a GRI Certified Training Provider for the effective use of the GRI Framework and G3 Guidelines within Sustainability Strategy and Reporting – from dialogue with stakeholders and credibility of the reporting process, to the definition of content, monitoring and communication of the final report. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive Certificates directly from GRI confirming their acquired knowledge on Reporting.
