The Centre for Sustainability & Excellence (CSE) participated in the 4th edition of the International Corporate Social Responsibility Conference held in Bucarest, Romania, which aimed at raising awareness on critical sustainability issues affecting Romanian organisations.
CSE’s Managing Director, Mr. Nikos Avlonas, provided his input via a speech in a plenary session on how to preserve competitiveness in times of financial turbulence and participated actively in a dialogue and peer discussion group on how to implement innovative solutions for climate challenge. Mr. Avlonas underlined the necessity to design and implement a long term CSR strategy that could help a firm preserve its competitiveness in times of financial turmoil and enhance its bottom line performance. As a salient figure of CSR initiatives internationally, he offered his cutting-edge insights and unique understanding of the sustainability ideal acknowledging that corporate social responsibility efforts should always be connected with long term business strategy in order to pay off.
Environmental issues, activism, fair trade, community development were the main topics of the conference where top level speakers and field authorities offered revolutionary solutions to innovate by reducing production costs while preserving the environment. The conference was attended by professionals across different fields such as CSR specialists, communication professionals, marketers, PR specialists, HR professionals, environmentalists and NGOs members, all seeking to explore the necessary paths in order to promote innovative corporate ideas that increase Corporate Responsibility while at the same time secure profitability.
