VODAFONE – Life Cycle Assessment

Vodafone Greece is a member of the Vodafone Group, one of the largest technology and telecommunications providers in the world. With unique expertise and a talented workforce, Vodafone invests in digital infrastructures for the future, reliably supports the needs of individuals and businesses, and actively contributes to the economic and social development of the country. Vodafone continually invests in its mobile network and has one of the largest private fiber optic networks in Greece, providing high speeds, innovative products, and quality services in fixed-line, mobile, internet, and television. Recently, it completed the first large-scale implementation of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks in Greece.

The Challenge

Through its activities and based on the principles of Sustainable Development, Vodafone aims to build a digital society that will accelerate economic and social progress, be open to all, and not burden the planet. At the same time, through the Vodafone Foundation, it implements social contribution programs in the areas of health, education, and social integration.

The Solution

CSE was tasked with calculating the carbon footprint of all Vodafone-owned shops for the year 2024. This means they assessed the total greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the shops’ operations, including energy use, transportation, and other related activities. After this, CSE helped Vodafone offset these emissions and certified these shops as “climate neutral,” meaning the net carbon emissions were reduced to zero through the offsetting efforts. This demonstrates Vodafone’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and achieving sustainability goals for its retail operations.
