European Investment Bank (EIB), the leading financing institution of the European Union, was created by the Treaty of Rome. Its owners are the Member States of the European Union, who subscribe to the Bank’s capital – EUR 164 billion. As shareholders the Member States are represented on the Bank’s main independent decision-making bodies – the Board of Governors and the Board of Directors. Sought to evaluate the level of GRI maturity, identify gaps and opportunities and to develop its Sustainability report based on the international framework of GRI.
