ESG Leaders Across Europe Join Forces in June 2025 Training

The European Certified Sustainability (ESG) Practitioner Program, held on June 25–27, 2025, brought together senior professionals from across the continent—and beyond—to strengthen their knowledge and capabilities in ESG strategy, compliance, and reporting. Over three immersive days, participants engaged in high-impact sessions, case study discussions, and practical exercises guided by experienced sustainability consultants from the Centre for Sustainability & Excellence (CSE).

The training welcomed ESG professionals from leading organizations including Celtic Dynamics (Ireland), Cesar Iglesias (Dominican Republic), and Hamilton Court FX SIM SPA (Italy). This diverse cohort reflected the wide-ranging sustainability challenges and opportunities across different sectors—from energy and manufacturing to consulting, communications, and finance.

In line with global ESG trends, the focus keyword—ESG Training—was embedded throughout the course’s structure. Each module emphasized practical applications of ESG frameworks such as GRI, TCFD, and CSRD, ensuring that participants could directly apply insights to their unique operational contexts.

“What I liked most about the training was the process of reviewing the sustainability reports,” noted Elias Dinzey, a Managing Partner. “It helped me think more strategically about ESG as an integrated framework.”

Participants strongly agreed on the training’s high quality. More than 85% rated the content as excellent, and nearly all attendees indicated they would recommend the training to others. Many valued the interactivity and networking opportunities just as much as the expert-led instruction.

Veronica Demichielis, Regulatory and Corporate Affairs Manager at Hamilton Court FX, commented: “The interaction with colleagues and professors was exceptional. It created a collaborative environment that enhanced learning.”

The ESG training also provided significant value through tailored pre-course work and real-time group activities. Kleopatra Boudalaki, from Atal Solutions, appreciated the hands-on approach: “The interactive exercises and participant diversity made the sessions uniquely insightful.”

Across all sessions, professionals dived deep into key ESG topics, including:

  • ESG Gap Analysis & Double Materiality

  • Regulatory expectations under CSRD and EU Taxonomy

  • ESG Reporting best practices and data integration

  • Greenwashing risks and transparency tools

These insights were especially important for participants from organizations that are scaling up or revising their ESG strategies. As Rachel Mistler from International Petroleum Corporation noted, “The concrete case studies helped bridge theory and real-world implementation.”

The feedback also emphasized the value of peer learning. Annelise Howell, Senior Purchasing Manager at Tenneco Inc., praised the structure: “Mixing groups daily would further improve networking, but I really enjoyed learning from classmates across sectors.”

Another highlight was the opportunity for tailor-made training follow-ups, including internal sessions for sustainability committees or executive teams. This flexible approach positions CSE’s program as a key ESG training solution not just for individuals, but for entire organizations aiming to elevate their sustainability practices.

As the ESG landscape in Europe continues to evolve under stricter regulations and higher stakeholder expectations, capacity building through programs like this is crucial. The June 2025 training showed how powerful ESG knowledge-sharing can be when participants from multiple countries and industries align on shared sustainability goals.

To support continued learning, CSE offers a suite of post-training resources such as the ESG Gap Analysis Tool, materiality assessment templates, and access to CSE’s Sustainability Academy. Many participants are already using these tools to prepare internal ESG reports and strengthen stakeholder engagement.
