Alors que les acteurs politiques de haut niveau se pr\u00e9parent \u00e0 la Conf\u00e9rence des Nations unies sur le changement climatique (COP26) qui se tiendra en novembre, les entreprises intensifient leurs efforts pour lutter contre les risques climatiques. Cette ann\u00e9e, la combinaison des budgets verts et de la tarification du carbone par les gouvernements a pouss\u00e9 les plus gros \u00e9metteurs de carbone du monde \u00e0 investir dans de nouveaux mod\u00e8les d'entreprise pour un monde moins pollu\u00e9 par le carbone.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

L'un des faits marquants de cette ann\u00e9e est la proposition de l'administration de M. Biden concernant un plan d'infrastructure de $2,3 trillions, qui comprend le financement de projets tels que les stations de recharge pour v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques et l'expansion des lignes de transmission pour l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 \u00e9olienne et solaire. En outre, le Canada pr\u00e9voit une augmentation r\u00e9guli\u00e8re de la taxe carbone de 1T4T10 par tonne chaque ann\u00e9e jusqu'\u00e0 ce qu'elle atteigne 1T4T50 par tonne en 2022. Une fois que le prix du carbone aura atteint ce niveau, il augmentera encore de $15 par an jusqu'\u00e0 ce qu'il atteigne un maximum de $170 par tonne de pollution au carbone en 2030.<\/p>\n

Les compagnies d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, les entreprises technologiques, les compagnies p\u00e9troli\u00e8res et gazi\u00e8res et le secteur immobilier comptent parmi les plus gros \u00e9metteurs de carbone au monde. Les plus grands d\u00e9fis de chaque secteur sont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s ci-dessus.<\/p>\n

Services d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 <\/strong><\/p>\n

On estime que plus de $50 trillions d'investissements seront n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle mondiale au cours des trois prochaines d\u00e9cennies pour assurer la transition dans le secteur de l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9. Toutefois, il n'est pas facile de passer du charbon aux \u00e9nergies renouvelables. L'entreprise de services publics doit d\u00e9terminer le co\u00fbt de cette transition et d\u00e9terminer qui peut l'aider.<\/p>\n

Entreprises technologiques <\/strong><\/p>\n

Les entreprises technologiques ont besoin d'\u00e9normes quantit\u00e9s d'\u00e9nergie, c'est pourquoi elles cherchent \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper la production d'\u00e9nergie propre afin de devenir de grands acheteurs d'\u00e9nergie propre. Cette tendance a conduit \u00e0 l'essor des centres de donn\u00e9es verts, qui fonctionnent avec de l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 sans carbone provenant de l'hydro\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, de l'\u00e9nergie \u00e9olienne et de l'\u00e9nergie solaire. Deux des principales entreprises du secteur, Microsoft et Google, se sont engag\u00e9es \u00e0 fournir 100% d'\u00e9nergie renouvelable pour leurs centres de donn\u00e9es d'ici 2025 et 2030 respectivement.<\/p>\n

Compagnies p\u00e9troli\u00e8res et gazi\u00e8res <\/strong><\/p>\n

Selon l'AIE, 15% des \u00e9missions mondiales de GES li\u00e9es \u00e0 l'\u00e9nergie proviennent du processus d'extraction du p\u00e9trole et du gaz du sol et de leur transport jusqu'aux consommateurs. Le secteur doit imm\u00e9diatement d\u00e9carboniser la production et le transport d'\u00e9nergie fossile, en se repositionnant comme producteur d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 sans carbone. Les politiques telles que les taxes sur le carbone acc\u00e9l\u00e8rent ce processus.<\/p>\n

Immobilier<\/strong><\/p>\n

La r\u00e9duction de la consommation d'\u00e9nergie est essentielle pour rendre les b\u00e2timents plus \u00e9cologiques, d'autant plus que 18% des \u00e9missions du secteur proviennent de ces b\u00e2timents. \u00c0 l'heure actuelle, les syst\u00e8mes \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques de quartier suscitent beaucoup d'int\u00e9r\u00eat, car ils permettent de chauffer et de refroidir les b\u00e2timents tout en respectant le climat. Des villes comme Toronto, Chicago et Houston ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 tir\u00e9 parti de ces syst\u00e8mes, qui permettent de r\u00e9duire de 50% la consommation d'\u00e9nergie primaire pour le chauffage et le refroidissement.<\/p>\n
