Alors que l'Union europ\u00e9enne (UE) intensifie ses efforts pour lutter contre le changement climatique, elle a reconnu la contribution significative du secteur maritime aux \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre (GES). Pour y rem\u00e9dier, l'UE int\u00e8gre le transport maritime dans son syst\u00e8me d'\u00e9change de quotas d'\u00e9mission (ETS), pierre angulaire de sa politique climatique.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Comprendre le syst\u00e8me d'\u00e9change de quotas d'\u00e9mission de l'UE (ETS)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Le SCEQE est un syst\u00e8me de plafonnement et d'\u00e9change con\u00e7u pour r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre en fixant une limite (plafond) \u00e0 la quantit\u00e9 totale de certains gaz \u00e0 effet de serre pouvant \u00eatre \u00e9mis par les installations couvertes par le syst\u00e8me. Les entreprises re\u00e7oivent ou ach\u00e8tent des quotas d'\u00e9mission qu'elles peuvent \u00e9changer entre elles en fonction de leurs besoins. Le plafond est r\u00e9duit au fil du temps, ce qui permet de r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions totales.<\/p>\n<p>Historiquement, l'ETS couvrait des secteurs tels que la production d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, l'industrie manufacturi\u00e8re et l'aviation. Toutefois, en juillet 2021, la Commission europ\u00e9enne a propos\u00e9 d'\u00e9tendre le syst\u00e8me d'\u00e9change de quotas d'\u00e9mission au secteur maritime, marquant ainsi un changement important.
